This Rockridge home had recently undergone a pretty extensive remodel. Although the backyard was large, the family was not really using it and they wanted to create a more desirable outdoor environment in which they could hang out and lounge. Looking at this blank slate, we first built a perimeter horizontal cedar fencing to enclose the yard and create separation and privacy from the adjacent property. A large multi-level ipe deck was built surrounding an existing tree to provide a welcoming space upon exiting the back door of the house. We extended this warmth throughout the yard by installing a natural lawn.
